How you’re setting prisoners free in New Zealand
There are almost 10,000 prisoners currently incarcerated in New Zealand. These people are often in desperate need of love and care, and they need to know that in Jesus, there is freedom from the cycle of crime.
But you’re helping to place Bibles in NZ prisons, bringing this love to prisoners like Paula.
Paula shares, “I grew up in a house of crime. I was the oldest of 11 children, and I was always told I was responsible for helping them. So, I did the shoplifting, things like bags of rice, or meat, or hairbands. I stole to support me and to support them. I just kept going on that cycle until I got arrested. I got a six-year sentence.
“When I was sitting in the jail, I met a volunteer chaplain who told me about Jesus. The volunteer helped me realise that it wasn’t my responsibility to take care of my siblings. I knew that I could depend on God. I didn’t have to be the Saviour. It freed me.”
Thank you for helping to set people like Paula free in Jesus!
