Grateful for God's Word

Tandratoa is 23 years old and lives in Andalatany, Madagascar. “As a kid growing up, I didn’t know much about religion because my family practiced traditional beliefs and ancestral worship,” he exclaims. “Some of my friends were Christians, so I would often attend church with them. This was how my faith journey began. However, each time I went to church my dad would beat for going and because I never followed family traditions.” Tandratoa never stopped going to church, and tried to be more secretive about it. His father eventually found out and Tandratoa’s entire family turned against him.

My love for Jesus grew stronger despite being rejected by my family,” he recalls. “I was forced to leave home when I was 15 and soon found work at the fruit market. With encouragement from my friends, I attended church regularly and grew stronger in faith.” One day at church Tandratoa heard about Project Philip and that it was starting the following week.

“I was so excited to participate in the Bible study,” he exclaims. “I decided I was not going to miss the opportunity. I received the greatest gift from God when Jesus came into my life! Now I am a new person, fully devoted to obeying the Word of God and applying it in my daily walk with Him.”

Pray for young people who are wanting to know more about Jesus but experiencing persecution from their family.
