Bring hope behind bars… and see lives transformed by God’s Word!

When Patrick was sentenced to prison, he felt like he’d been sent to hell.

Cut off from the outside world, surrounded by violence and fear, he lived in despair. He says:

“I was an alcoholic… a hot-tempered man with no peace or joy.
“Life in prison is difficult… I compare it to hell.”

But everything changed when someone like you gave him a Bible.

Through God’s Word, Patrick found true freedom — peace, forgiveness, and new life in Christ.

Now, despite being behind bars, Patrick is a passionate evangelist. He shares the Gospel with fellow prisoners, saying:

“I may be in prison, but I am free. I am no longer a slave of sin — hallelujah!”

Today, you can help bring hope behind bars by placing God’s Word into the hands of prisoners just like Patrick.

Your gift will help meet a vital $42,000 goal by 30 September — to provide Bibles and biblical resources to under-resourced prison ministries around the world.

About the Prison Bible

Bible League has worked with a translation team to specifically design a Bible for prisoners. Through the Easy-to-Read Version (ERV) in the required local language, prisoners are able to understand God's Word for themselves. In addition, there are 52 lessons at the beginning of the Bible, to help teach what the Bible says about topics such as:

  • Following Jesus Inside of Prison
  • Seeking Forgiveness from Those You Have Hurt
  • Coping with Prison Noise
  • Understanding Compulsive Behaviour
  • Preparing for Release

The Prison Bible also has other features such as:

  • A goal setting chart
  • Scripture references for dealing with various emotions
  • An address book for family and friends
